I Never Enjoyed Arab Strap Anyway
Last weekend, I traded 11 albums (more on those later) for $20 store credit. It wasn't a good deal...but the process to get there was. You see, I spent days listening to dusty, ignored compact discs to attempt to shrink my ever expanding collection of so-so/duds. But, what I found were some near gems I almost gave up on.
Sure, I'm excited to see how far my $14 will take me (I found a $3 copy of Cornelius' Point and El Guincho's Alegranza!), but knowing I didn't trade Belly's Star or Guster's Goldfly have me curiously interested to give other forgottens another chance to get dusted and placed properly on a frequently used music shelf.
As for the 11 that didn't make the cut...it's been real, it's been fun...but it hasn't been real fun.
