The Office
In June of '04 I first experienced the British mini-series The Office. I didn't love it right away. In fact, I was slightly confused. But by the late fall of '04 I was hooked. It worked on so many levels. Gervais is a master of comedy, but even his hysterics could not compete with Tim and Dawn's friendship (which still remains the capstone of this fantastic series show).
After moving to Bend to be closer to B, I began sniffing out the 'American' Office. It first aired before I graduated from WOU, and I enjoyed the pilot episode...but deep down I wanted to avoid it because I feared it would blemish the 'true' original.
It's been nearly four years since I purchased Season One of the 'American' Office. About a month ago I opened Season Two (I got it for Christmas). I fell in love all over again with this simple, yet provoking storyline. I finished Season Three last night, and eventhough it took me five years to get on board, I think waiting was the best thing I could have done.
