Jandek and my second
I have not been diligent about adding reviews, prose, poems, or thoughts. My wife and I expecting our second child any day. When our first son was born I noticed a slight bend toward instrumental, noisy, experimental drone. Lately, I'm becoming more and more intrigued with writing about the Jandek albums I have, and whether or not I will, at some point, purchase 20 for $80 from Corwood Industries. Nothing about welcoming a child in this world seems synonymous with the world of Jandek, yet listening to Jandek always feels memorable.
Listening to Jandek is also about waiting. Some moments are so disjointed and outside the acceptable music box, people will tell you this music is for crazy people. My wife once said she'll know when she's ready for an insane asylum. How? Jandek will be playing in the background, and it will have been her first choice.
