angelo de augustine - spirals of silence
Angelo De Augustine - Spirals of Silence last night, in the home of a welcoming stranger, my wife and i had the pleasure of listening to de augustine evoke all kinds of magical enchantments. we were encouraged to scoot closer by someone who knew better. the first several gentle strums, a hushed lyric... we inched closer. we think we've heard it before. an unknown artist, soon to release a record of bedroom lo-fi gold bandwagons will get packed, causal music listeners are gonna try to steal it and soon soccer moms will play the autumnal recording while driving to bed bath and beyond!!! oh, how we all want to play paleontologist. being the first to discover... hating to share... pointless. spirals of silence is a confident definition. an anchor. angelo is a narrator for the voices we don't hear. when he speaks, his strings and voice are crushingly vast. like vashti or lewis. his method for revealing is a medium few can channel his method, is worthy of praise. album of my year. |
